Sunday 13th December. Snow starting to fall in Vienna. The weather has been very cold for the past few days. Yesterday I nearly froze, we went out for a walk at Stephansplaz and went to Ikea in north of vienna. The city centre was crowded with tourist and punters out to do their shopping. X’mas season is in the air Christmas tree of your choices on sale, ready to be picked up, gluwine, streets filled with x’mas decoration.
Today, we when to the Advent Market at Scholss Schrubrun. Arrived there around 1800hr, snowflake was falling from the sky. It must had been around 0C as my feet felt quite numb. Other parts of my body was ok as I learnt my lesson from being ‘underdress’ yesterday. The market was crowded, choir was singing and children running everywhere. I love it. The atmosphere was just great, the whether could have been slightly warmer.
After a cup of gluwine, some Kartoffelsuppe, hot chocolate and some Pommes Frites I feel better but my feet was still numb. We walked around admiring the local craftwork. The boys (A and Ake) finally foundwhat they wanted and help themself to some fresh krapfen.
We stood around sinking in the atmosphere until we fell quite numb. The temperature dropped further to -4C. We thought then that

Life is like a movie. Full of drama, emotions, high, low, changes, excitement and boredom but that there are only 1 person who got to see a life right from the beginning and right till the end. This, I think is a real disadvantage as any forms of frank discussion about the whole movie is impossible. Someone else might get to see part of the movie, but they only see part of the movie . They can draw some forms of judgemental decision about the movie but it is only for that small part that they got to see. It is unfair but that life.
My life in Vienna began a month ago. Since then thing got settle down slowly, I’m learning about the city slowly and nervously like getting to know a new girl I like. Learning what her value are so I wont upset her, how she function so I won’t get lost, and sorting out all the practical stuffs like how our finance would work, how to contact each other, list goes on and growing. I am grateful for that she throw me out of complacency into the learning zone. I must admit though that I missed Bristol my old love very much…the suspension (Bridge) and the balloon (festival).. oh.. but how life got to move on..
If God’s rest on Sunday, I do on Saturday (for this week, anyway). It had been busy week, tiresome. Day after day of..social life (hard life really). Started from Tue – Pub Quiz, Wed – Basketball and friend’s birthday party, Thurs was a tasty Euro Dinner where students around Euro share the most common and popular food in their country while I represent Thailand with Fortune cookies and Egg rolls from Chinese supermarket (a real let down, sorry) and Friday – Buddhism meeting. Which very well brought me to Sat. the day when I woke up and got sore throat. It’s wonderful how your body warn you overworked it, it doesn’t strike out of sudden like Thai Rail Union, it just give you a little pinch up your side.
So I rest I did today. After food shopping and lunch cooking – I decided that I need a fresh air before the sunset so set my foot out the door at 3pm toward a close-by U-bahn stop – Kardinal-Nagl-Platz. Picture speak a thousand words so here is my nine thousand:
